Day Room at Haley VA Hospital

Haley VA Hospital

Tampa, FL – July 15, 2014

The Armed Forces Families Foundation partnered with Tampa Bay USO, and together funded a $30,000 project that gave the Spinal Cord Injury Center at the James A. Haley VA Hospital, a 1,900 square foot Day Room.  The purpose of this project was to create and provide a relaxing and recreational environment with a “family room” feel for the patients and their families. The Day Room is open 24-hours a day and includes a large monitor for movies, a television and games, table and chair seating to accommodate wheelchairs and power chairs, a dedicated children’s corner and a pool and air hockey table. The project was completed in July 2014.
