IHOP stacks up donations for troops, military families

Participating IHOP restaurants across five states raise $48,000 for future infrastructure projects benefiting military service members, veterans and their families

TAMPA Fla. – Participating IHOP restaurant locations throughout the Southeast U.S. completed their annual fundraising campaign on Nov. 20, 2018, raising a grand total of $48,000 to support the Armed Forces Families Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping military families.

Nearly 50 IHOP franchises, including locations in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia, participated in this year’s annual fundraising drive, which took place from Oct. 31 to Nov. 20, 2018.

Patrons visiting participating IHOP locations during the fundraiser were able to purchase a paper icon for $1 or more and receive a coupon for a free stack of three buttermilk pancakes as a thank you for their donation.

“We want to thank everyone who participated in this year’s fundraiser, as well as those IHOP restaurants that made this event possible,” said John Wright, a member of the board at AFFF. “Because we allocate funds back into the markets in which they were raised, donors will be able to see the impact of their contributions within their own community.”

One hundred percent of every dollar raised by the AFFF goes to the development of permanent or semi-permanent infrastructure projects benefiting military families.  The AFFF is comprised entirely of volunteers, providing donors the confidence that all funds raised will be used to support projects benefiting military families.
