Heritage monument opens at Homestead Air Reserve Base

Homestead Air Reserve Base

Homestead, FLA. – 2020

Homestead Air Reserve Base and the Armed Forces Families Foundation recently completed construction of a heritage area offering educational information for base visitors and veterans of aircrafts used at Homestead ARB over the past 70 years.

In late 2018, the Armed Forces Families Foundation donated $49,900 to help fund the project, which includes informational plaques and a three-aircraft monument including a C-46 Commando, a B-47 Stratojet and an F-100 Super Sabre. The monument now helps honor the rich history of the base since its inception in 1942 and gives the visiting public an opportunity to better understand the role of the base in military aircraft operations.
