AFFF supports the outfitting of USO Tampa International Airport with $22k donation

TAMPA, Fla. (2024) – The Armed Forces Families Foundation provided $22,282 to the USO Foundation to help fund the costs of new furniture at the USO center in the Tampa International Airport located in Tampa, Florida.

AFFF’s donation was used to fund the purchase and installation of new commercial-grade recliners, sofas, tables and dining chairs, to replace the existing furnishings that had been heavily worn due to the significant increase in visitors to the USO facility.  The USO Tampa Airport welcomed nearly 24,000 visitors in 2023, representing an increase of 25% from the prior year.

MacDill Air Force Base, located in south Tampa, is home to 15,000 service and family members with an additional 5,000 personnel attached to U.S. Central Command. The USO center at Tampa International Airport provides service members and their families with a welcoming environment to rest before the next stage in their journey.
