Renovate and Upgrade Family Wellness Center

Fort Irwin Family Wellness Center

National Training Center

Fort Irwin, CA – March 3, 2004

In 2004, the Armed Forces Families Foundation contributed $12,000 to renovate and upgrade a family wellness center in the heart of Fort Irwin base housing. The AFFF installed computers with web cameras for live video chat so families could have access to loved ones who were deployed overseas.

As part of the family wellness center, the AFFF also built a children’s safe play area for children to play in view of their parents. In addition to the computers and children’s play area, the new Family Wellness Center included gym equipment, video games, new furniture and televisions.
