NAS Jacksonville opens new playground after $55,030 donation from AFFF

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Naval Air Station Jacksonville in Jacksonville, Florida, opened a new playground Wednesday. The playground was made possible by a $55,030.92 donation from the Armed Forces Families Foundation.

The money was raised for the Armed Forces Families Foundation in conjunction with Taco Bell franchisee Southeast QSR through donations made by diners at restaurants in Jacksonville, Florida and the surrounding geographic area. Additional funds were raised by the Jacksonville Sharks, which held a military appreciation night on May 12, with proceeds going to the Armed Forces Families Foundation.

The new playground at NAS Jacksonville is located at Sea Bat Park where service members and their families use the nearby recreation pavilion for command and private picnics. The playground has slides, climbing equipment and other age-appropriate features.
