Donation to Atlanta USO Center

New Appliances in USO Center

Atlanta, GA – March 7, 2013

The Armed Forces Families Foundation donated $3,500 to the Atlanta USO Center located in Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport for new appliances, including a new stove/oven and refrigerator, as well as two new desktop computers to the Center.

The kitchen and computer areas are the two most utilized components of the USO, which is why there were in immediate need of replacement. The kitchen area is used by military members and their families on a daily basis for meals, snacks and drinks, as well as for special military events often held at the USO Center. The computer area is constantly used by military members and families from open to close at the center, and therefore the additional computers will reduce waiting time and will also allow the visitors to maximize their time at the facility.

USO of Georgia is operated by the USO Council of Georgia, Inc. and assists over 400,000 individuals annually, making it one of the largest USO operations in the world. The check presentation for this project was held in March 2013.
