AFFF donates $47,534 for MacDill Air Force Base playground

TAMPA, Fla. – The Armed Forces Families Foundation approved and provided $47,534 to build and install a playground at the Harbor Bay community at MacDill Air Force Base.

The playground was placed in the Heritage Cove neighborhood, which has 94 homes for military families.

The playground replaced an older playground that was in need of replacement. According to a survey conducted among residents, the new playground was the most requested item from the families.

Harbor Bay provides housing for 572 active duty families including the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Navy and Marines. Harbor Bay also has several programs to assist spouses of deployed service members.

MacDill Air Force Base is home to the 6th Air Refueling Wing, U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command.
