AFFF provides $60,000 to Charles George VA Medical Center for outdoor space

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Armed Forces Families Foundation has provided $60,000 to upgrade the oncology unit outdoor space at the Charles George VA Medical.

The upgrades helped to make the space more comfortable and inviting for those undergoing treatment for cancer.

As part of the upgrades, a Zen garden with walk paths, landscaping, lights, benches for seating and a gazebo for a shaded area were installed.

The clinic serves approximately 30,000 veterans and their family members each year. The Zen Garden is now a place where veterans and their family members can enjoy the outdoors while allowing them a relaxing break from medical treatment.

The Armed Forces Families Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which provides funding for permanent and semi-permanent infrastructure projects that aid military members, veterans and their families.
