AFFF provides $50,932 to Lee County VA Healthcare Center

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – The Armed Forces Families Foundation provided $50,932 to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Bay Pines VA Healthcare System for 96 new electronic tablets, charging stations and a curbside patient ambassador desk at the Lee County VA Healthcare Center (LCHCC).

The electronic tablets are used to help veterans and family members of veterans during their visit. The tablets provide veterans and their families with secure, user-friendly access to their “My Health e-Vet” account, floor maps, a directory of the facility, updated benefit information from the healthcare center and entertainment while the veteran is waiting for an appointment.

Additionally, children’s entertainment is also available on the e-tablets.

LCHCC is a large specialty outpatient healthcare center, which opened in December 2012 and was built to address the growing demand of the Southwest Florida veteran population.
