AFFF provides up to $214,000 to fund new USO center at Fort Benning in Columbus, GA

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Armed Forces Families Foundation provided $214,000 to fund the interior build out of a new USO center at Fort Benning in Columbus.

The goal of the USO at Fort Benning will be to provide service members and their families a home away from home with a place to relax and connect while off duty.

The USO has more than 250 locations that support military members and their families worldwide and provides programs, entertainment and services.

In 2019, USO centers were visited more than 8.1 million times by service members and their families. USO centers provide a warm and comforting place where service members can connect to loved ones via Internet or phone, play a video game, catch a movie, have a snack or just put their feet up and relax.

Many of the USO’s centers across the southeast U.S. have received funding from the Armed Forces Families Foundation.
